When should fiber be used instead of Cat6?+

Fiber is appropriate for long distances, building-to-building links, high capacity, electrical isolation and backbones serving multiple remote devices.

Can security cameras share the business network?+

Yes, when segmentation, bandwidth, cybersecurity, ownership and support responsibilities are deliberately designed.

What is a PoE budget?+

It is the total power a switch can supply to connected devices. Port count alone does not prove that a switch can power every camera, reader or intercom.

Can wireless replace fiber?+

Engineered wireless can solve selected pathways, but line of sight, interference, weather, capacity and availability must be evaluated.

Do you test installed fiber?+

A professional handoff should include appropriate test results, labels, port schedules and updated diagrams.

Can an old analog camera cable be reused?+

Sometimes with adapters, but condition, distance, power, future support and lifecycle cost should be compared with a proper IP pathway.
